Waiting on New Trucks thread. | TruckersReport.com Trucking Forum

2022 Mack Anthem I ordered in February was placed in my hands on Oct 1. The build date was July, which is the originally promised complete date. It was not shipped until the last week of Sept. It was sitting in Macungie PA completely built, but waiting on the roof fairing supposedly. Now I’m waiting out the IRP timer I started on Friday before having everything legal to run it. The Georgia Department of Revenue has exploited the covid panic to reduce customer service to less than zero, so a plate transfer that would take 2 minutes at a counter if one existed like in the olden days, now will probably take another week.

Meanwhile, my Great Dane salesman has gone from “can’t even order for a few more weeks for Q3 next year delivery” to just not answering emails. This thread made me think of it, so I tried one more time. Next will be a call to his boss to see if he quit or died. Look I get it. You can’t meet demand for a dozen different reasons, but that’s no excuse for not being able to click on reply and copy/paste your same sad story of failure, and at least make me believe my business is valuable to you. It’s not like I’m desperate or anything. I’m expecting to order two 2023’s and not see them for a year, in the best of cases. I could use one right now, but will just have to keep them going for now until whenever.

All I got to say about this is: markets are cyclical, and there will come a time when these people won’t be able to give their equipment away. When that day comes, I’ll definitely be reminding them, over and over again, how I didn’t forget being treated like an unwanted guest in 2021.
