I will start this thread on my experience going through Yellow’s Driving Academy. I have a terminal manager meeting tomorrow. I’m planning on attending the Indianapolis Line Haul Academy.
About Me: I’m 36 years old, have six kids, and been a LPN (nurse) for 12+ years. I have been wanting a switch out of healthcare and driving a truck has been on the forefront of my mind. My wife and I have talked it over now for about a year and will consider Yellow as LTL type work seems more appealing to me than straight out OTR.
The recruiter did explain to me that linehaul drivers can and do have the possibility of being out a couple days a week or even being home every day. It depends on freight movements, terminals, weather, etc.
