Honestly if your truck will move on its own power and you heard clunking and carrying on the damage is done.
Just get to wherever you are safe and forget about those rears.
Those rears are so ancient you may have a hard time finding internals for them even for someone to rebuild them and honestly because it’s all ancient and there’s probably Spring Ride on there if you have the money go get yourself a nice later model air ride cut off and get it on that truck.
For what it would cost you to have someone work on them it’s just not worth it for something that ancient honestly even if you could find the parts.
Not only will your back and body thank you, anything that you need for them you’ll just make one phone call and you’ll have it that day or the following.
Sorry to hear about your troubles but if you can afford it it’s a really good opportunity to upgrade.
