My friend has a 2000 model 8.3 ISC in his RV set at 330hp / 950ftlb torque. I scanned it for him before taking it to get serviced to make sure there were no codes, etc. Before taking it to get serviced it had the 90246.16 program file in the ecm, but after the service it now has the 90246.40 file in it. My question is: Did the mechanic just update the software to a newer file or is that a completely different file? I assume it's just the updated version, but I'm not as savvy on Cummins…
