Truckers with young children, how hard is it? | TruckersReport.com Trucking Forum

Shelf your need for happiness. Whatever you chase in life, means that it’s running from you. Including happiness. If you want to be an involved dad, that otr isn’t even a question. Local work. Your boy will lose the home stability, and if you go otr he’ll lose your time. That’s the sacrifice you make when you have kids. I’m not saying your happiness is unimportant, it’s very important, but when you have children your needs outside of food/clothing/shelter become a juggle. Your choice ultimately though.

my dad gave me no time, and left my life when I was 16. I have nothing but, nothing for him.

btw, I have three daughters. I used to be an O/O doing regional, but my whole goal was to set myself up to trade stocks full time so I can be at home everyday with my kids. Achieved that goal, and will never look back.
