Haven’t been around here much, but I thought you might be able to help me help someone else.
I know a CDL school student who went to a good school (community college), tested and did not pass, and is now out of money for test fees and time at his training program to retest. I’m trying to find ideas for companies that can give him the support to finish (a truck and trailer to test in, testing fees, maybe a little polishing) and ideally a job afterwards. He is local to the Tacoma, Washington area but would be open to training somewhere else and going OTR.
He knows his pre-trip well (and passed it), can back (almost passed it, short one point) and will do fine on the road… I think he got nervous at testing. He’s automatic only.
My backup idea is finding a company that will “train him again”. I’d hate to see him indentured to a company for a year (or two!) but that is better than no CDL and no job, so any suggestions there would be appreciated.
