This entire situation is just unbelievable. But it happened. This will be lengthy but I would venture to guess, well worth the read. This has been stewing for months and I wasn’t going to mention it until I had some kind of conclusion. I apologize for the length of this but I have to include all valid details so it makes sense.

As some of you may know, I was shot 6 times walking my dog on the evening of March 18th 2022 at my trailer drop yard at my company yard. Since I only created this thread to show what my company did to me, and not mention the company by name, they will remain unnamed. I’m doing them a favor doing this.

After being shot I was rushed to the hospital where my parents were not even notified until I CALLED THEM from my hospital bed the next morning asking why they weren’t at the hospital. Well, they knew nothing about it. While I was recovering at the hospital, one of the safety guys came visit me and another one got with my dad about going to the yard nearby and unloading my truck.

When my father got there, they told him that he could take what he wanted, but no need to spend a lot of time there because they would hold my truck for me so my stuff would be there when I got back. So my dad got just a few things out of the truck for me, leaving everything else. Once they told me that I could leave my belongings in my truck and that they would keep my truck for me, MY BELONGINGS BECAME THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. We offered to empty they truck and they said there is no point, the truck will be waiting for him when he gets back. THIS DETAIL BECOMES VERY IMPORTANT LATER ON. Fast forward 2 and a half months.

I get a call from one of the employees at my company asking how I’m doing. I told them about my recovery and they informed me that my truck had been issued to someone else. I was flabbergasted. They told me they’d hold my truck until I got back. If my truck is gone, what happened to my stuff? So I call, and I’m very mad. I eventually figure out that this employee of my company decided to unload my truck himself, thinking he was doing me some favor. In fact, he used this against me saying “I should be happy that he unloaded my truck for me and I didn’t have to send anyone over there to do it for me.” Um no, I’m pissed off you didn’t even notify me that you were unloading my truck AND you took it upon yourself to give away half of my things. Why, exactly, would I be happy about this?

The problem is, he didn’t feel like taking the time to disconnect and remove my 32″ HD tv, my 2500 watt pure sine wave inverter, my steering wheel cover, any of the cables or anything like that. He then issued the truck to a team and off they went. WITH MY STUFF. They did this in the beginning of May. I didn’t find out until the beginning of June. I was never notified or given any chance to have someone drive to the yard to get my stuff out so nothing would be missed or forgotten. So I immediately demanded my stuff be returned. They told me no, they would just replace it when I came back to work. I told them no, I want it replaced now. They held firm and told me not until I returned to work. I was so angry but didn’t have much fight in me at that time. I was barely able to walk without a cane at that point and needed to focus on my recovery, not fighting my company.

Fast forward to Oct 5th. I told them I wanted my stuff back because I think I’ll be returning to work in November. I was told yet again “You were told you have to return to work to get your stuff back.” I didn’t say anything. Included in this email was a list of everything I know was missing with links to repurchase the same items when possible. Otherwise best descriptions were given.

Fast forward to last night. I sent them the list of everything that I KNOW is missing yet again and told them to order everything and have it ready because I’ll be returning in November. Yet again, they told me no. Well today was judgement day. I put my foot down. They aren’t even answering the phone when I call and when I text they tell me I have to contact one person as my company contact who wasn’t even working there when I got shot. They refuse to answer the phone and only text and email me. They emailed me and said that company “execs” had told her they wouldn’t order anything for me until I came back to work. I finally replied that I was done with this. They have no right to hold me or my items that THEY STOLE hostage. If they do not get me my stuff NOW, I would be taking the next steps. That would of course be filing criminal charges against the employee who emptied my truck and gave away my stuff. The value of the items exceeds 500 dollars so it would be grand theft, a felony.

Amazingly, within 2 minutes, I received an email from my company “contact” stating they are ordering everything for me today. We shall see tomorrow if this is real because I will demand tracking numbers so I can see where my items are as they are shipped.

I’m really pissed off because they had started out as a great company and really helped me when I got shot. After time went by, the REAL company came out. It really pissed me off that they made ME out to be the villain, like I was demanding things I wasn’t entitled to in asking for the things THEY STOLE to be returned to me. And after they refused for 6 months, I have to threaten to file charges against my company to get my stuff back.

I think this is the definition of a bad company.
